TalentPro in collaboration with Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) and Beanstalk conducted “Metamorphosis”, an HR Summit based on the theme, “Bridging the gap between industry and academia”, at the TISS Convention centre, Mumbai. The convention was addressed by the CXO’s from Telecom, FMCG and BFSI sectors expressing their views and opinions on this initiative.
This enlightening summit focused on the need to bridge the gap between academics and industry, taking up the responsibility in accentuating the skills of an individual before entering the fast paced corporate sector, creating right job opportunities as per the skill sets and helping an individual to suffice and grow in the industry.
As the Indian economy is growing at the rate of around 8% GDP year after year, new jobs and roles are getting created with increasing complexities which require specific skill sets. The existing educational system is orthodox in its approach and is unable to churn out suitable candidates to cater to this demand from the industry.
The three parties which need to play a critical role in addressing this skill-gap challenge are Universities, Training providers and HR Solution providers. The summit witnessed key panel discussions with eminent CEO’s, HR Directors and academicians on various aspects of the summit’s theme like:

The students of TISS also made perspective presentations on the FMCG, Telecom and BFSI sector where they spoke on their expectations from the industry in terms of training. The experts from each industry also gave their views on how the industry addresses these issues.
